Your location

When you choose to check your location, iOS or your browser asks permission to use your precise position. The coordinates are sent directly over HTTPS to Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), Germany’s national weather service, to retrieve radar data. DWD also receives ordinary network information such as your IP address and may keep service logs under its own privacy policy. Radar resolution is approximately 1 km; precise GPS does not imply street-level radar accuracy.

What stays on your iPhone

The native app saves only the most recent position, its timestamp and radar result in an App Group shared with its widgets. Widgets may send that saved position to DWD when iOS refreshes them. There is no background GPS tracking and no location history. Saved positions older than 24 hours are not used by widgets. Open the app after moving. To clear the saved position and result, open the three-dot menu and choose “Forget saved location”. You can revoke location permission in iOS Settings.

What we collect

We operate no backend and do not receive your coordinates or radar queries. There are no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, subscriptions or in-app purchases. We do not sell personal data. Information voluntarily included in a GitHub support issue is public; do not post private coordinates or other personal information there.

The website

The browser preview holds your last result only in memory. It does not store your coordinates in cookies or local storage. Cloudflare hosts this site and may process ordinary request logs under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. No third-party fonts or analytics are loaded.
