A LITTLE HELP

Back outside,
in a moment.

Why is there no answer?

The app needs location permission, an internet connection and current radar coverage. DWD covers Germany and parts of neighbouring countries, including northern Switzerland. A geographic bounding box is not a coverage guarantee. Mountain and border areas may have no data. A dash means unavailable or expired, never dry.

What do Yes and No mean?

Yes means the radar sample for your location now detects at least 0.1 mm/h of precipitation. No means below that threshold. The message underneath says when rain may arrive or ease within the next 90 minutes. Radar can also detect snow or hail. It is an estimate, not an observation made by your phone.

How do I add a widget?

First open the iPhone app and check your location. To add a Home Screen widget, touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget, and search for “Is it raining on me?”. For a Lock Screen widget, touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customise, then tap the widget area.

Why does my widget say last location?

Widgets use the last location you checked in the app. They do not track you. Open the app after moving. iOS controls refresh timing; the app schedules expiry entries so an old answer becomes a dash. Position data older than 24 hours is not queried.

Location is denied or too approximate

In iPhone Settings, open Privacy & Security → Location Services → Rain on me?. Allow location while using the app and enable Precise Location. Then return to the app and check again. In the web preview, use your browser’s site settings.

Report an issue

Open a support issue on GitHub or email platret.alex@gmail.com. Include your iOS version and a description of what happened. Do not include private coordinates in a public issue.

Radar source

Source: Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), RV precipitation analysis and nowcast, delivered through its public WMS. We convert five-minute precipitation amounts to mm/h and apply a 0.1 mm/h threshold. The last radar result expires after ten minutes or earlier if the radar run is over fifteen minutes old.
